Wrestle Kingdom – the perfect place to start your New Japan journey. That’s how it started for me. After hearing about the hype surrounding Bullet Club back in 2014, I decided I needed to start watching some NJPW, and Wrestle Kingdom in 2015 was the perfect place to start. Three years on, I am completely hooked to what I believe to be the best quality wrestling in the world.
As somebody that only got into New Japan a few years ago and believes it to be the best promotion in the world today, I adore helping curious fans get into NJPW in any way that I can. Previously, I wrote a Beginner’s Guide to New Japan, which seemed to help a lot of people begin their viewing experience with the company, but as I know a lot of you will be tuning in for the first time on January 4th, I thought I would put together a quick of bullet point guide taking you through all of the vital information you need to know about how to watch the big event, what time it’s on, how to get around streaming issues, what to watch before and after Wrestle Kingdom, and a brief look through the match card and how each bout has come about. But let’s start things off with the most important part.

The dropkick – a simple move performed by hundreds of wrestlers in various forms over the years. It can be good, it can be not so good (I’m looking at you Cena), but in some cases, it can be spectacular. With all the dozens upon dozens of wrestlers who have performed this move night in, night out in the last few decades, trying to decide who does/did it best is a rather difficult task, but I was willing to put in the effort for all my loyal marks out there (thanks for the support, guys). So here they are, the Top 10 Best Dropkicks in Wrestling.

If you had asked me my thoughts on Chris Jericho before 2016, I probably would have responded, “Meh, he’s alright.”
I’ve never been much of a fan, but I’ve never really known why. When I was a child, I just didn’t take to Jericho and his weird hair, and that carried on as I got older. Have you ever thought a song sounded okay, but it was by a band you hated so you didn’t allow yourself to enjoy it? That’s how I felt with Jericho. Even when he was doing great things I couldn’t acknowledge to his brilliance. That is until this year. His current run is the lengthiest he’s had in years, and has arguably been the best work of his career. He’s one of, if not the most entertaining parts of WWE at the moment, and his impeccable work this year has made me realise how great he is, was, and always will be.

As a wrestling fan, it’s inevitable that you have seen thousands and thousands of moves in your lifetime. And, as a wrestling fan, it’s also inevitable that you have to set aside reality a little in order to truly enjoy a bit of sports entertainment. Sure, there are aspects of wrestling that are completely realistic, but then there are also magical beings that can summon lightning and teleport into caskets. Same goes with the moves – some would fit perfectly in a real life scrap, but then there are some that exist just to look cool. In this list, I’m looking at the moves that are perfectly acceptable in the wonderful world of kayfabe, yet in reality, they just have no use. Here are the Top 10 Cool Moves That Wouldn’t Actually Hurt.
