Pro wrestling is wonderfully ridiculous. It’s a form of entertainment where Olympic gold medallists can go one-on-one with 7-foot zombies with magic powers. In a world full of so many extravagant characters, it makes sense that some of them can’t possibly be from actual places that exist in the real world. Sometimes pro wrestling goes so far into kayfabe that they need to invent places for their characters to be from……or sometimes wrestlers just like to use where they’re billed from to make cool pop culture references. Whatever the reason behind it though, I’m going to rank them – here are the Top 10 Fictional Locations in Wrestling.
WrestleMania season is over for another year, but before we start looking forward to the 35th edition of the show, let’s look back at the best matches we saw in the biggest week of pro wrestling of the year – here are the Top 15 Best WrestleMania Week Matches: 2018.
Wrestlemania is no longer just a one day epic event – it’s grown into a whole week of promotional wrestling, and one gigantic weekend of pro wrestling, both within and outside of Vinny Mac’s realm. Independent companies from around the world now conjugate in whichever city Wrestlemania is held in that year, and put shows on from Friday to Sunday to please the thousands of fans that flock to watch a bit of graps.
This is the one-hundredth post on my website. Thank you to anybody that has ever read one of my articles, shared one of my posts, or accidentally clicked on my website because they found the name of it very misleading.
To celebrate, I’ve decided to list a whole bunch of explanations as to why I spend hours every week watching and writing about the wonderful world of sports entertainment. Here are One-Hundred Reasons Why I Love Pro Wrestling.
Disney icons in Kingdom Hearts, Spider-Man in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Wii Fit Trainer in Super Smash Bros. – we love it when our highly beloved characters show up in the most surprising of video games. When it comes to wrestling video games, we’ve seen a range of surprise inclusions, both fictional and real people, show up to grapple inside the ring (more about those here), but on very rare occasions, some of our favourite pro wrestlers have decided to step away from the ring, and show their face in an unexpected virtual space. Here are Five Times Real-Life Pro Wrestlers Appeared in Non-Wrestling Video Games.
Outside of WWE, Kenny Omega is the most talked about wrestler in the world today. His time leading Bullet Club shot him into a global spotlight, but it’s not just his cool black and white merch or iconic logo that give people reason to talk – he also just happens to be one of the best wrestlers of his generation. Every time he steps into a ring, Omega puts on an incredible show, and on certain occasions, makes history with the quality of his matches.
When Chris Jericho finally had his first-ever match rated five stars by renowned wrestling and MMA journalist Dave Meltzer on January 4th this year, it was a testament of how incredibly hard the former-WWE Champion works, and how when most wrestlers would have slowed down by now, Chris is still able to put on some of the best work of his career. To some, Meltzer’s opinion means nothing, to others, it’s the gospel. Personally, while I don’t always agree with his views, I do respect that somebody who’s been critiquing pro wrestling professionally for over four decades probably knows what he’s talking about, and as such, his ratings intrigue me. It’s incredible that in such a globally supported sport as pro wrestling, there’s only one critic who’s opinion really has any meaning behind it. Sure, you may be interested what other journalists, fans or personalities have to say, but a match is never referred to as five stars unless Dave Meltzer declares that it is. (Learn more about Dave Meltzer’s dedication to pro wrestling and why his opinion is so well respected by fans and competitors alike by reading my list of the Top 20 Five-Star Matches.)
DDT Pro Wrestling is known for being possibly the most ridiculous promotion in the wrestling world. We’ve all seen the clips and GIFs, we’ve all sat in awe at how incredibly bizarre the whole thing is – but have you ever bothered to really look into it? Have you ever tried watching a full match? A full event? A match that doesn’t involve fireworks or animals or inflatable dolls? Well, if not, you owe it to yourself to check out their streaming service – DDT Universe. But why should you sign up? How do you even sign up in the first place? How easy is it to use? Where do you go to see Joey Ryan use his penis on people? Don’t you worry! All of those questions and more will be answered in my exploration of A Dramatically Crazy Universe: A Matchguide and Tips for DDT Pro Wrestling’s Streaming Service.
